Ggotgae Jjigae (Blue Crab Stew)


2 blue crabs
2 cups water
1 cup moo (daikon/radish)
1/2 zucchini
1 small onion
2 green onions (cut into 2 inch pieces)
1 jalapeno
2 tablespoons dwenjang (soy bean paste)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1-2 tsp gochugaroo (chili powder)
salt to taste


Slice moo, zucchini, onion, jalapeno and set aside. Cut the crabs in half. Add dwenjang to water and stir until it dissolves completely. You don't need a lot of water because a lot of water comes out from the crabs. Bring to a boil. Add the crabs and all the other ingredients. It's important to add the crabs when the water is boiling. Bring heat down and cook for 15 minutes. Add chopped green onion within the last couple of minutes and salt to taste.
